Law Enforcement Counterintelligence

by Lawrence B. Sulc Buy Now
Very little has been written about law enforcement counter intelligence.  One reason is that, until this book, few people were aware of the extent to which criminal organizations have gone to mount intelligence operations to protect their empires.  Some of these operations are extremely sophisticated and represent a serious, and sometimes deadly, threat to law enforcement officers and American citizens.
Sulc, a former career intelligence operative and analyst, uses his extensive personal experience, interviews with other experts, and review and analysis of actual incidents to reveal the extent of the problem, and the threat it poses.  He concludes his book with specific recommendations and techniques to respond to the problem.
In his 23 years as a CIA operations officer, Lawrence Sulc saw a variety of assignments, from overseas special operations and counterintelligence in Latin America and the Far East, to Langley intelligence manager.  Sulc has extensive first-hand knowledge of the length to which adversaries will go to gain tactical and strategic advantage.

Capt. James Stalnaker, San Bernardino County (CA) Sheriff’s Department
“Lawrence Sulc effectively identifies the consequences of the lack of a counterintelligence program, and formulates some solutions to the problem. This book is no-nonsense and straight forward in nature.”
Michael Wargo, Police Officer and Author
“Sulc presents an unassailable case for reinvigorating law enforcement intelligence capabilities in the ’90’s, with special emphasis upon counterintelligence.  He sets down the risks now facing U.S. law enforcement personnel in this regard, and offers constructive ideas for doing something to combat what is sure to be a growing, and deadly, problem.”
H.H.A. Cooper, University of Texas at Dallas

LAWRENCE B SULC wrote the first know book on Police-Law Enforcement Counter Intelligence, Erin sold the 1st book to Tom Gillan,M D State Detective and now is the director of Central Florida Police Stress Unit. As a source for Larry’s book I received a free copy; also credit for Larry’s photo. As Director of Intelligence, Central Intelligence Agency he offered most valuable information for police and agents in fields pertaining to Undercover Assignment’s, street smart tactics and shows how to thwart intelligence penetration into law enforcement offices. Prior some agencies would dispose of sensitive documents; copies disposed of same in a simple trash can with names of C.I.’s, Confidential Informants and other C.I’s, Counter intelligence sources.

I purchased about 8 copies from Varro Press for Embassy Police Attaches that dealt with critical info that in the past had caused shooting and bombing deaths of police officers.
Personally I posted information on the book on LEANALIST, and intelligence site. I sent Larry Sulc’s book to a member, who reviewed it online. The founder of the police intelligence site LEANALYST, EMMA FERN founded the site praised the book for intelligence officer’s, her field with Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement; FDLE. Other copies I purchased went to those admins making them aware of actual cases in the book, For example statements such as “We are doing an electronics sweep today” .Just in time for the crime syndicate/casrtel to remove them in time, and reinstall after the sweep.
Law Enforcement Counter Intelligence was a catalyst for other qualified in the fields.

Larry Sulc’s book will never be outdated. Stan Wilson, retired Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, DC, friend of Larry’s and a contributing source.
